Perique Tobacco

This is a slide show, not a movie. It is a fascinating stop on our travel where Perique (pronounced per-eek) tobacco is grown. We had a good time with friends, Bud & Audrey Zeringue, in Gramercy, LA for a few days.

Washboard, start 'em young

They even start the babies - no wonder they make such awesome musicians in south Louisiana.

Start 'em young - Accordion

No wonder Cajun musicians are so good - they start as babies!

Apologies for the dark image. But hope you enjoy the music.

Apologies for poor video. Mulate's is a fairly dark place and couldn't get enough light. Anyway, hope you enjoy the audio.

Golden Meadow, LA #2

Golden Meadow, LA, Video #1

Last night we were in Golden Meadow, LA and looked up a Cajun musician friend, Roland Cheramie. He got his guitarist, Hoyt Ledet, and a fiddle student together and they played in the dark at a park for just the two of us for nearly 2 hours. Amazing talent. The student bought his fiddle in January. Sorry about the darkness. Turn up the sound and hope you enjoy it.
